ABOUT US
Catalina Yarns, Inc. is a wholesale provider of natural fiber luxury yarns. We specialize in baby alpaca and alpaca blend yarns. In the future our collection will expand to include other yummy natural fibers including cashmere, cotton, and merino wool.

We source our alpaca yarns through the largest producers of alpaca fiber in the world. Inspired by the spirit of the Incas, they emphasize working in harmony with the natural world by using technology that minimizes impact on the environment, preserving nature's bounty for future generations. Our supplier's business supports hundreds of thousands of Peruvians, with the goal of improving the lives of peasants throughout the Peruvian highlands.

Catalina Yarns, Inc., started by Renee and Shaun Koch, premiered its first lines in January, 2005. Our goal is to provide the highest quality selection of baby alpaca yarns and blends in the United States. We are a family owned business. Our sales staff, Christine and Cara Koch are Shaun's sisters. Our third sales person, Dianna, is Shaun's mother. We like to feel we extend this family atmosphere to our customers through the conscientious service we provide.

Renee works part-time with at-risk teens as a school social worker. Shaun worked on his PhD at Loyola University, Chicago. He has worked as a survey researcher for the National Opinion Research Center and as Director of Market Research at a large market research company. Most importantly, Renee and Shaun are the proud parents of Campbell Koch, the light of their life and reason for being.

In the Spring of 2005 Rebecca Sweinhagen joined Catalina Yarns as co-owner and Design Director. Her design philosophy is that hand knit garments should be classic in style with modern details and an artistic flair. Above all, she believes that hand knit garments should be wearable. Look for free patterns in addition to pattern books throughout the year.

We hope you enjoy our product as much as we do. Please forward any questions or concerns to us.
Thank you,

--Shaun Koch
